Peter Funch is a photographer from Denmark, who lives in New York City. The images above are from his most recent work entitled "Babel Tales" which is my favorite series of his thus far. I was not able to find much information on him or how he creates his work, but his photographs fascinate me. The concept of having a group of diverse people brought together by one single action, color, or object in a public setting is brilliant. I cannot tell if these are photoshopped or hired actors and actresses posed in New York City, but either way, it only makes the images more appealing. One of my all time favorite photographers. Nick Brandt's photographs are what I aspire to - the perfect combination of black and white film, and wildlife. Even though it is really difficult to make a career as a photographer shooting film, I would prefer it. I want to be a wildlife photographer and I am inspired by his capability to combine classic film and wildlife in such a successful way. His compositions are stunning. If I could make a living doing what he does, I would be the happiest person in the world. These photographs were taken in Eastern Africa between 2000-2007. These are the best animal portraits I have come across. To see more of his work or get a look at his book go to http://www.nickbrandt.com/popup.html.
